The DüsseldorfCard is the cheapest and simplest way of getting to know the city. It grants you not only unlimited use of trams and buses and all surcharge-free trains (RE, RB, S-Bahn, 2nd Class) within Zone A of the Düsseldorf City area (shaded in white), but also free or reduced-price entry to museums, various attractions and leisure facilities.
In addition to your DüsseldorfCard, the Tourist-Information offices will provide you with a set of information containing the Düsseldorf City Guide, the official calendar of events and a current list of exhibitions.

    We suggest all participants to take the local transport to get to Düsseldorf. Your bib number is valid as a ticket for the city center price level A3. Please be aware that only underground trains will be on duty due to road closure.

    The car park "Neuer Zollhof"  offers a reduced rate for the METRO Marathon Düsseldorf on April 29, 2018.
    Participants, attendants and visitors to the event can park on April 29, 2018 from 6 am until April 30, 2018 8 am for a maximum of € 5.

    From 8:30 am NO vehicle can pass the route!

    Dusseldorf is the premier destination for modern and contemporary art in Germany.
    The art-loving Elector Jan Wellem and his wife Anna Maria Luisa of Tuscany from the Medici founded the first cultural heyday of Düsseldorf in the 17/18 Century. Heinrich Heine, whose 200th Birthday was celebrated in 1997, was Clara and Robert Schumann and Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy strengthened Düsseldorf's reputation in the world of culture. Artistic impulses are often assumed by the Dusseldorf Art Academy. Therefore names such as Paul Klee and Joseph Beuys. Between tradition and the avant-garde, classical and glamorous moves the spectrum of the Düsseldorf art scene.
    Among the outstanding pillars include the world-renowned art collection NRW K20K21 including her two houses on Grabbeplatz (K20) and the House of the Estates (K21), the cultural center courtyard with the museum kunstpalast and the Tonhalle, a respected German Opera on the Rhine and the Schauspielhaus, the artistic home of Gustaf '.     Museums in Düsseldorf

    Düsseldorf has 26 museums and more than 100 galleries to offer its visitors. These include such famous institutions as the Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen (Art Collection North Rhine-Westphalia), the Museum Kunstpalast and the NRW-Forum (North Rhine-Westphalia Forum for Culture and Business).

    Where contemporary art is concerned, the state capital of Northrhine-Westphalia leads the field. The "Becher School" – to name but one direction – has produced many stars of photography: Thomas Ruff, Thomas Struth, Candida Höfer and Andreas Gursky, the most expensive photographer of the times, who lives and works in Düsseldorf. Julia Stoschek, a wealthy collector and icon of the international jet set, has further enriched the arts centre of Düsseldorf with the opening of a private museum. In her Stoschek Collection. Her video-art collection with over 400 works is unique in Germany.

    Around 1,800 artists live in the creative ambience of the world-famous Düsseldorf Arts Academy. That's why you can always meet such famous artists as Markus Lüpertz, Günther Uecker, Heinz Mack, Andreas Gursky, Hilla Becher, Katharina Sieverding and Katharina Fritsch at opening nights and in bars and clubs.
